Key Stage 4 Drama
At key stage 4 every student has 5 hours a fortnight of drama. Currently in year 10 there are two classes of GCSE Drama with an uptake of 37 students.
Students study the Edexcel GCSE Drama exam board and are taught by the lead teacher for drama. They have all their lessons in the drama studio.

Year 10 study:
- 1. An introduction to GCSE Drama.
- 2. Practitioners that help to improve performance.
- 3. Theme study for Unit 1 exam (Identity) 30% of GCSE.
- 4. Kitchen Sink Drama study for Unit 2 Theatre review 10% of GCSE.
- 5. Monologue and Duologue Performances.
- 6. Unit 2 study of a Play text (An Inspector Calls) 20% of GCSE.
Year 11 study:
- 1. Recap of all Explorative Strategies, Mediums and Elements.
- 2. Deeper analysis of Practitioners, understanding technical theatre.
- 3. External companies workshops for practical exams.
- 4. Mock 40% practical exam based on Devised work from Stimulus.
- 5. Unit 3 Practical exam (40%) performed to an Examiner between March – May.
The grade boundaries for GCSE Drama are A* - 97%, A - 88%, B - 76% and C - 65%
