Welcome to the ICT Department
ICT @ EMC: ICT is at the forefront of all we do at Earl Mortimer College. The new school has been designed to allow all staff and students to access ICT facilities throughout the school. The ICT department consists of five state of the art computer laboratories. Each lab has access to 30 PC's enabling all students to access the latest technology. A learning wall is available which enables an Interactive whiteboard and a normal whiteboard to be used at any time in a lesson.
Access to ICT facilities in other subject areas is amongst the best in the area. All faculties have access to laptop trolleys which can be used by students and staff and many subject areas have dedicated ICT suites for use by students and staff.
All PC's have access to the latest versions of Industry Standard software. We are the only school in Herefordshire to use the latest version of Adobe CS5. This enables students in all years to use software such as Flash, Dreamweaver, Photoshop etc in their classwork. All of which contributes to an outstanding opportunity for each and every student.
The ICT curriculum has been designed to enable all students to fulfil their potential. At key stage 3 all students have 1 lesson of discrete ICT each week. All lessons are taught by ICT specialists in one of the ICT rooms where each student has access to a multimedia workstation.
