Support
You will be issued with text books and student notes to complement every chapter of the course. These are yours to keep and annotate.
Expectations
The work done in lessons should account for one third of the work you do, i.e. for every hour in class you should be doing two hours outside class. Compulsory revision sessions will be scheduled to take place in the Science workroom (F20).
Your independent study must include:
- Keeping class notes up to date
- Maintaining a glossary of new vocabulary
- Completing the tasks in the student notes and text books
You are expected to have a Scientific Dictionary and a Scientific Calculator.
Recommendations
You should keep up to date with developments in Physics by:
- Reading scientific journals provided in F20.
- Join the Institute of Physics and keep up to date with the information they send you. Do this on http://www.iop.org/education/student/youth_membership/page_41684.html
- Seek help from Mr Kirk or Miss Taylor when you need it.
Monitoring
Your progress will be assessed every Calendar Month by Mr Kirk and Miss Taylor. This will be based on the quality of your written work and how up to date it is, your attitude in class.
