Sickness and Absence
If a student is absent: A note must be written by the parent or carer to the Tutor;
The College should be informed by telephone if the absence is likely to be for more than three days;
If it is likely to be a long absence, contact us so that work can be sent home or Home Tuition arranged as appropriate. Following the first day of absence, if we have not received a reason for a student's absence, the College will ring home to clarify the reason for non-attendance. Should absence prove persistent, and no notes or telephone calls have been received from home, this could result in a visit from the Education Welfare Officer who checks attendance. Please keep sick children at home as we have no College Nurse in full-time attendance. Emergency assistance in case of accident or injury is provided by members of staff who are qualified in first aid. A 'drop-in' clinic is presently available to students on Wednesday lunch times, staffed by doctors and nurses
